The Datejust is one of Rolex’s most popular self-winding watches. It is widely known as a watch that anyone can recognize at a glance from its distinctive appearance.

The Datejust mechanism, in which the date changes instantly at zero o’clock, is considered one of Rolex’s three greatest inventions, together with the Oyster case and the self-winding Perpetual mechanism, and the Datejust model is the culmination of all of them.

This Ref.16030 is a Datejust model that appeared in 1978 and was produced until 1987. It is the successor to the Ref.1603.

It retains the basic Datejust design established in the 1960s: a fluted bezel, a Jubilee bracelet and bar indices.

It is the last model to be equipped with a plastic bracelet, as the watchmaker will be switching to a sapphire crystal for the next generation.

The Ref.16030 is a rare Datejust model in all stainless steel. It is more comfortable to use.

The bezel has a more ornate engine turned bezel than the fluted one, which gives the impression of being somewhere between elegant and sporty.

The combination of blue dial and this engine turned bezel is unlikely to happen.

The movement is Cal. 3035.

It is the first Rolex men’s movement with a high-beat frequency (28,800 vibrations) for improved accuracy.

Another feature is the ability to adjust the calendar in fast-forward for greater practicality.

In addition to this watch, it was also used in the Submariner Ref.16800/168000.

The bracelet comes with a Jubilee bracelet 62510H.

The clasp code indicates that the bracelet was made in 1985, so the bracelet is still intact at the time of its release.

The bracelet is an 18-frame bracelet, so it can be worn up to 16 cm around the arm.

The bracelet does not have a lot of elongation, and it is not much considering the age of the bracelet.
