-Description

Patek Philippe is a watch brand founded in Geneva in 1839. The company uses its unparalleled quality and technical expertise to make watches without any compromise.

The independence of the family business and the reliability that all watches can be repaired create a value as an asset that can be passed on from generation to generation.

In addition to the fact that it continues to be the world's premier manufacture, the brand is also synonymous with luxury watches due to the extremely small number of watches produced.

This watch is a Gondolo reference 5010 manufactured in the late 1990s.

The Gondolo Collection is named after Gondolo & Labouriau, a prominent Rio de Janeiro retailer with whom Patek Philippe had a strong business relationship from 1872 to 1927.

The long relationship with Patek Philippe led to the creation of the Chronometro Gondolo pocket watch, a watch created especially for this Brazilian retailer.

At a time when Europe was suffering through years of depression and facing World War II, Gondolo & Labouriau was the sole distributor of nearly a third of all Patek Philippe watches produced.

The collection has a very long history that continues to this day and is mainly ladies' watches. Patek's flagship watch is the Calatrava, which has a round case, but the Gondolo collection consists of other non-round watches such as tonneau and rectangular watches.

This watch has a rectangular case, 25.5mm wide and 33mm long, slightly larger than the men's size of Cartier Tank.

If you look at it from the side, you can see that the case is rounded and bulging. The glass is also round, which is a major design feature.

The dial is a matt white dial with large Roman numerals. The large small seconds and uniquely shaped hands are a very classic Art Deco design.

Most this reference watches come with a leather strap, but this watch has a very rare integrated bracelet. The material is 18K yellow gold, which is the same as the case.

This is a large 5-row rice bracelet with bulging links just like the case. The buckle part has a Calatrava cross and unique decoration, giving it a very different impression from the leather belt specification.

Although the bracelet feels heavy due to the large links, it fits comfortably on your wrist and is very comfortable to wear.

The length of the bracelet is approximately 18.3cm around the arm and can be finely adjusted using the buckle. Since it is a type that can be removed, it can be adjusted up to about 16cm. (It will take some time to adjust the frames. Thank you for your understanding.)

The installed movement is hand-wound Cal.215. It is a small movement with a size of 10 ligne (approximately 22.5mm) and was introduced around 1978 as a successor to Cal.23-300.

It is a very classic thin manual-winding movement, and is still used in current models such as Ref 5196 after more than 40 years.
